"My storytelling unfolds through images that raise spontaneously through the hand. Characters caught in the telling emerge onto the paper and create an image that is sometimes open to interpretation by the viewer… The images of birds, and other creatures, as well as beings from the imagination, populate the paintings and drawings. I begin with a fews colors which are haphazardly applied to a blank paper or canvas and then I wait for the images and story to begin to appear. The images can appear spontaneously or over a few days and from the beginning a story may unfold in my mind or perhaps it will begin as a single image...but the story will arrive eventually. It is a very intuitive process and I am never quite sure where it will go..." Christine Rossi lives in Berkeley CA and maintains a studio in Berkeley.
