With dark and moody colors, a collection of figures move in space, leading to conflict between two groups of people. The works mesh mellow watercolors, gestural marks, and thick uses of acrylic paint. Even the way the paper is cut is meant to represent Ancient text. The works are meant to be displayed as a narrative and have a poetic structural flow (Rising action, rising action, and falling action). In the epic of Gilgamesh, the cedar forest is a mysterious forest that the protagonists Gilgamesh and Enkidu run through in search of fame. Though the stage is the same, the people are different taking elements of Ancient Near Eastern, Greco-Roman, African symbols/mythologies, and contemporary comics. The artwork ultimately represents the way in which cultures clash and engage with each other, particularly in the context of the unknown. It also meant to merge the ancient and contemporary into a unified language, showing that things change yet stay the same.
