The naiads are a strong guardians of a complex water environment they fill with energy and power. The Anacostia River and Potomac River naiads pose as influencers at Mount Vernon. They wear crowns of native pinkter flowers and mussels.
This nymph's environment is based on my own photography on tissue. The image in the photograph is a double exposure of wetlands at the mouth of the York River and Mount Vernon and was tiled on nine sheets so covers the whole image. The naiads are painted and layered under mussel-bed patterns at different magnifications and maps of Mount Vernon and Washington DC for a dreamlike environment.
