This nymph is a strong guardian of a complex forest environment she fills with energy and power. This forest nymph was taken from distant lands and brought to Yorktown, parallel to the many slaves imported and still enslaved when the colonies were liberated from Britain. Only a few slaves who directly fought with the colonists were liberated during the revolution.
This nymph's environment is based on my own photography on tissue, layered over candy wrappers, creating the base of the image and providing shine and sparkle, but also highlighting the trash in our natural areas. The image in the photograph is a double exposure with enhanced color and was tiled on nine sheets so covers the whole image. The nymph is painted to fit into her dreamlike environment.
