Cerulean Waves is a study in clarity of water, of movement, of mind. The color drew me in first: that deep, luminous blue that only appears when the light hits just right. It’s the color of calm, but also of depth and strength.
This painting reflects the quieter side of the ocean, the kind of wave that holds grace within its power. I wasn’t chasing drama here, but balance, between motion and stillness, light and shadow, energy and ease.
Surfing taught me how to read a wave, but painting has taught me how to feel it. I don’t try to control the image as much as I follow it, letting the paint move the way water does. My yoga practice helps guide that rhythm, keeping me grounded and open.
Cerulean Waves is about that feeling of being carried, not just by the wave itself, but by the flow of creativity, breath, and the ocean’s quiet pull.
