The Cogitator is a masterpiece of color, design and placement. A cogitator is someone who thinks deeply about something, who meditates and reflects. The figure of the cogitator, occupying one third of the compositions, sits in repose. His outfit vibrates with wildly painted patterns and colors, perhaps inspired by indigenous Mexican and African art. The book authors left to right and top to bottom are Holy Bible, Darwin, Toynbee, Camus, Da Vinci, Einstein, Octavio Paz, I. Stravinsky, Carlos Fuentes, Matos Moctezuma, Freud.
