La Vie en Rose is the signature song of French singer Edith Piaf, written by her in 1945 and covered by many artists including Louis Armstrong, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin and in 1977, by Grace Jones. The painting has the image of a grand piano, together with lyrical, playful floating dots suggesting musical notes. It is richly textured and patterned with swathes of pink, green and gold.
