BELLE along with CINDERELLA are the first two paintings I created for the Disney Fine Art Program. Once I completed them, they were shipped to Anaheim California for a in person review. They allowed people to see first-hand my texture and the quality of my work before signing me as a Disney Fine Art Artist.
I chose to portray Belle, since she is a beloved Disney Princess from Beauty and the Beast. She is a timeless symbol of grace, intelligence, and beauty. Her iconic yellow dress is a stunning representation of her elegance and sophistication. The castle in the background adds to the scene’s grandeur, with its towering spires and intricate architecture. It saves as a reminder of the magical world that Belle inhabits and the sense of wonder and enchantment that surrounds her. Of course, I had to also incorporate Lumiere, the charming and suave candelabra and Cosgrove, the uptight and punctual clock, since they both add humor and heart to the painting.
As for Cinderella, of course I had to choose her since she was my first introduction to the World of Disney as a child. Her grace, kindness and unwavering spirit have always touched my heart as well as the hearts of audiences for generations. I also included her castle in the background as a symbol of the magic and romance that defines her story. I decided that Jaq and Gus deserved being added to the painting since these little mice befriended Cinderella and helped her in her quest to attend the royal ball and meet the prince.
