Ann Carter is a Manhattan-based artist who has been actively pursuing art since 1987. Most of her pieces are collages, being fascinated by patterns. "Patterns interest me so much because they are often handmade, a sign of our need to add beauty and interest to everyday life. All persons make choices about the patterns they surround themselves with. I want to use wallpapers and their arrangements on the mantle, the flowers in a garden, and the colors and prints on clothing to show how a person thinks and sees the world."
