The final wildflower portrait of 2017. The common name for these wildflowers is Mexican Hat- scientific name: Ratibida columnar. The blooming season is through July but these bloomed during "second spring" in October as summer gave way to fall. These are the fighters, the ones who can't wait for the next year. They are late bloomers who struggle up and make a grand statement in a season out of time.
