A statement of unity in diversity, As It Was In the Beginning deals with the tug of humanity to find identity while seeking individuality. A thin red lines runs across all three paintings. The first and last share a mirror image vertical red line designating a beginning and an end. And yet the horizontal line continues before and after calls to mind eternity. Chaos is brought into order in this triptych and opens up the hope that order and beauty are possible.
