Western Prairie Fringed Orchids are the only North Dakota plant on the Endangered Species List, with about 2,000 within or near the Sheyenne National Grasslands. At 2-3 feet tall, these beautiful white flowers are striking against the prairie grasses and blue skies. Their major threat is overgrazing and loss of prairie lands.
