The Sebastes rockfish is a unique genus with more than 120 species that can be found in the Pacific Ocean. Members of this genus are also known to have a wide variety of lifespans across species, ranging from 11 to 200 years. Due to their slow maturity and vulnerability to overfishing, their populations need careful management to maintain sustainability.
