Flandrau Science Center of Tucson commissioned 6 illustrations of deep-sea animals for their permanent ocean exhibit. The “Midnight Zone” (Bathypelagic) extends 3,300–13,000 ft. below the surface, out of sunlight’s reach. I chose species for their variety of body plans, colors, and adaptations.
