- 52 x 100 x 0 in
The Gomphoterium genus belongs to the Elephantida group, and its appearance resembles that of a modern-day elephant. However, they have an elongated mandible with bore tusks that were more likely used to scoop food from the ground. This illustration and fossilised teeth are currently at the Dino Park Lourinhã and are part of the exhibition "Fossils of Ice Age Giants".
