Female birds don't get nearly as much representation in scientific illustration as the males of the species do, so I wanted to give them the spotlight. In addition to making a piece featuring two females, I also wanted to bring attention to the same-sex relationships often seen throughout nature. Nothing in nature is simple, but, it is often beautiful.
