55th Anniversary Juried Member's Exhibit - 2023

The illustration was created for a science publication titled 'The spotted-wing drosophila, Drosophila suzukii, in the Andean Region.' The spotted-wing drosophila is a dipteran native to Asia that has invaded much of the world, causing significant damage to fruit crops, especially those with thin skin.

As reference material, I relied on scientific papers, numerous photographs taken under the microscope, and received scientific guidance from specialists.
