Reconstructions of Cretaceous Coreids Preserved in Amber
- Adobe Photoshop
- 2500 x 4000 in
- Elizabeth Sisk
Previously undescribed extinct species of cretaceous Coreidae insects were discovered preserved in Myanmar amber, with exaggerated antennae compared to extant species that have elaborate hind legs. These dorsal reconstructive illustrations were created using the preserved specimen to help researchers accurately describe and compare the extinct anatomy to extant anatomy, contributing to hypotheses about the evolutionary importance of elaborate antennae and hind leg features in Coreids.
