Actias Luna in the Night Garden
- quilt
- 26 x 27.5 x 0.5 in
- Kathy DeVries
A native of North America, Actias luna is one of the most striking moths to behold because of its large iridescent tapered, 3-4 inch green wings, large eyespots, and feathery antenna. With no mouth or digestive system, its beauty is fleeting as the Luna Moth lives for about a week with the primary goal to mate. Caterpillar hosts include a variety of trees, such as hickories, walnuts, white birch, and sweetgum.
