Some Yab-Yum visualizations are peaceful; some are wrathful. These combined deities appear to devotees in whichever form will open those individuals to Truth. This wrathful Yab-Yum is the 1000-armed Yamantaka, Diamond Terrifier and Destroyer of Death. He does not make death disappear, of course, but helps us conquer our fear of death. In other words, he eats our fearful idea of death. He is a manifestation of Manjushri, and a Protector of the Dharma (teachings). (FLG)
