This artefact is a plaster reproduction of a Sumerian cuneiform tablet from circa 2100 BCE. It is 1.5" wide, 2" long, and 1/2" deep.

The artefact reproduces a cuneiform tablet from the reign of the third Dynasty of Ur (commonly abbreviated as Ur III). The Third Dynasty of Ur was the last Sumerian dynasty that came to preeminent power in Mesopotamia. The reign of Ur III was from the 22nd to 21st century BC. Gudea ruled in Lagash (Southern Mesopotamia), circa 2144-2124 BC. Classical Sumer came to an end with the rise of the Akkadian Empire in the 23rd century BCE, except for a brief renaissance in the 21st century BCE.

A translation is accompanies the artefact:
Line 1 "Two sheep (female), two....."
Line 2 "One sheep (female),..."
Line 3 "One sheep (female,...."
Line 4 "Two..."
Line 5 "Two..."
Line 6 "Two..."
