Florida artist Jane Downs Carter is well known as a watercolorist and for her Biblical themes. This is a double-sided watercolor, an excellent example of the artist's work. The verso depicts a group of four women. Exact date created is unknown, circa 1950s.
The medium is gouache (opaque watercolor) on paper, both sides painted to the edges. The images and sheet size measure 15 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches. The watercolor comes unframed.
