“II PARTE DE MAZURCA DE DELIBES” SIGNED ORIGINAL COLOR MONOTYPE BY THE COSTA RICAN ARTIST SOR MARIA DE LA SALETTE (b.1925)

This bold abstract monotype was created and hand painted by the Costa Rican artist Sister Maria De La Salette. It is an excellent example of the artist’s abstract work. The monotype is signed by the artist lower right: Salette RBP.

There is a label on the reverse lower right with the title of the monotype: II PARTE DE MAZURCA DE DELIBES, and stamped on the reverse upper left: CASA PROVINCIAL DEL BUEN PASTOR. SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA Apartado 1985 – Telefono 25-15-04 (Provincial House of the Good Shepherd. San José, Costa Rica). Date created unknown, circa early 1980s.

The monotype, painted on a heavy card stock paper, measures 19 7/16 x 13 3/16 inches (49.5 x 33.5 cm). The monotype comes unframed.
