“AUTORRETRATO” SIGNED ORIGINAL INK DRAWING BY MEXICAN ARTIST JOSE LUIS CUEVAS (1931-2017)
This self-portrait ink drawing is by the Mexican artist Jose Luis Cuevas, who is known for his Neo-figurative ink drawings and surrealist portraitures. This self-portrait is an excellent example of the artist’s work.
The drawing is signed in ink by the artist in the margin below the image lower right: Cuevas. The artist titled the drawing in ink below the image lower left: Autorretrato.
The medium is ink on a sheet of wove paper from the artist’s spiral bound sketch book. The ink drawing, including the ink outline border, measures 8 3/8 x 6 1/4 inches. The sheet measures 12 9/16 x 9 5/8 inches. The ink drawing comes archivally matted.
