Walter Wolfman Washington, is a living New Orleans legend, we are so blessed to have him play every Sunday at the Maple Leaf. Frenchy has painted Walter during live performances 100’s of times over the last 20 years. But this is a “studio” portrait with over 20 hours of work. The reference for this painting comes from a photo Frenchy took on a Sunday night at the Maple Leaf Bar.
The vision for this work of art was inspired from some Frenchy’s first paintings. Applying his “line art” technique to frame the image, Frenchy then applied color washes, and “Frenchyrealism” for the flesh tones and guitar.
