November 2025 PJ Hogan The Many Faces of PJ Hogan

This is a commission I did for a fellow artist, PJ, who also volunteers at FMAAA. He asked me two years ago to paint him but I declined because I had only done two paintings at that point and I didn’t think I could get it right. (I was scared stiff to try.)
When he asked me again a few months ago, I said I would, providing I got a good photo. He said, “Well, let’s just take one right now.” So we walked outside and took a few pictures.
I finished it a couple of weeks ago but he just picked it up today. When I showed it to him, I still had the glassine paper covering it so it could only be seen dimly, but he said, “Hey, that’s really good.” (What a relief!) He liked it even better uncovered. Then he said he was going to go get it framed right then. Off he went!
