This painting is a homage to The Tomb of Böcklin by German Symbolist painter Ferdinand Keller, one of my all-time favorites.
The scene depicts the love between Shadow and Bastet, placed within Keller’s mystical setting.
A dialogue between Eros and Thanatos.
