Bill, who lived in the crevice just near the washroom, liked to go shopping on his
days off wearing his favorite feathered cap and his favorite shoes. On a Spring Day
in 1982, he decided to travel to Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, NY. To his
great delight, he discovered that the mall had a Hormel Store! Bill was so pleased
to find many different flavors of his favorite prepared food, Spam. After years of
therapy, he had been able to control his addiction to the salty pork product. It had
gotten so bad at one point that he was arrested for trying to boost a Hormel
delivery truck when he was visiting his cousin in Milwaukee in 1949. On this day,
he decided to purchase a half dozen cans including this curry flavor that he had
never seen before.
He was overjoyed.
