Boat builder and designer Nat Benjamin is a delightful fellow, and a very gracious portrait subject. I happened by chance to depict him in a corner of the boat shop where he keeps his own tools, and for the painting I chose a moment where the light catches the structure of his profile as he watches the work out on the marine railway.
