Ko ngā hua o te pūriri, tōnga o te rā, Ruapekapeka, 15 March 2021

One might argue these pūriri trees are the descendants of the original bush and that they carry the memory of the battle of Ruapekapeka; these are the fruit from the tree whose timber was so central to the fortification of the site.
