This piece was created during the first lockdown. I think I had a much easier time of it than most folk because I have an oasis in my backyard. I can escape there and tune out all the noise of the political, racial, and pandemic drama. Being in that environment surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature I was moved to explore how the combinations of what I saw and heard would look layered in one piece. I wanted to capture not only the multicolored plant life but the movement of the birds, the shimmering water and the shadows dancing as the wind moved everything. This is one of the ways spring looked like to me.
