I come from Brittany, by the sea in western France. My entire childhood was shaped by coastal light. I also spent a great deal of time around boats, and regattas are very familiar to me. By simplifying the forms, the boats become nothing more than triangles. The viewer’s imagination is then invited to reconstruct the scene.
