When I created MY HAIR IS A MESS, I was working one-handed after surgery. That limitation shaped the painting’s energy: the upper section became a wild, gestural tangle that reminded me of John Lennon’s phrase, “My hair is a mess.” The brushwork is spontaneous and direct, leaving visible traces of movement and impulse.

Although the texture is present, it remains subtle - what dominates is the rhythm of the strokes and the strong central form. For me, this work is about embracing imperfection, turning constraint into expression, and allowing the composition to breathe with raw vitality.
