In the "DON'T EXPECT LIFE TO MAKE SENSE" series I explore painting (though I do it since years). I force myself to use new tools, new colours or to mix them in different ways. It's about simply let coincidences happen, to deal and live with them - like life is. So the series on the one hand has a lot in common, on the other hand, very diverse works have been created.
In this specific piece, No. 8, the process led to a more graphic result. The rigidity of the black horizontal lines is disrupted by a dominant, sweeping layer of white and light blue, covering the chaotic energy of the scribbles underneath. It looks like a struggle between order and the unexpected.
