Do we want something beautiful - or something real?

DO YOU WANT THE TRUTH OR SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL 4 is part of a series where I defined “hand-painted” quite literally. I worked almost entirely with my hands, without brushes or tools. If you paint yourself (or even if not...), you’ll probably notice the traces of my fingers - especially the dark marks in the upper right corner.

Despite the soft, “feminine” colors like pink, red and yellow, the painting feels raw and direct. That contrast was intentional. I wanted to create something with edge, something that doesn’t hide behind a polished façade.

Please note that works on paper typically show signs of handling even when new, such as slightly bumped edges or small tears. These are not defects but an inherent part of the artistic process. The works are created in the studio under real working conditions and may, during their creation, be attached to walls or worked on while lying on the floor using fluid paints. These traces reflect the direct, process-driven approach and are integral to the authenticity of the artwork.
