This is one of the few existing Intaglio etchings pulled from the plate back in the late 70s prior to the plates destruction in a flood before the edition limit was expired. About 6 proofs and prints total were created before the tragic loss of the plates damaged beyond repair in the deluge. Even most of the etchings were damaged by water and mold and sustained significant staining.
From Dan's original 35 mm Kodachrome Slides taken of the original artwork this limited edition becomes possible only now some thirty years after the flood.

A single example was gifted to Dan's spouse, Ellen, years ago and that one etching became the source for high resolution photos taken by the artist, making possible reproductions and a new limited edition as 7 color fine art giclees now some thirty years after the flood destroyed the originals.
