Born in New York , Debra was exposed to a very rich and sophisticated history of the arts at a young age growing up with a family of artists and creators. In her formative years, it was evident, she was destined to create a better world through her art. Her journey had started. her passion for making the world more beautiful one brush stroke at a time is how her journey started as an artist.
She attended The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan where she excelled to new heights as an artist exploring new mediums to work with. She then became a jewelry and home accessory designer for 15 years, shipping to stores all over the county.
To be recognized in the “art world” and to be competitive in its marketplace, most artists identify themselves and are recognized by a characteristic style or subject matter. For many artists, their point of view - the way they interpret what they see, dictates what they see. In this way, an artist becomes distinguished, and distinguishable from other artists. Debra’s style and point of view are inspired by what she sees and what inspires her by the many aspects of nature, people, and life as we know it.
She brings herself forward to meet the subject of a painting with anything from color-packed whimsy and playfulness, to geometric subdued sophistication; from cubist abstraction to folk-artsy florals. Her art is generous and passionate with a touch of excitement, and playfulness.
Her vast and varied artfulness, her freedom of expression, and her creative drive are insatiable. And with pure, unrestricted delight for what she paints, she offers an expansive and delectable menu from which to choose.

Debra's Process:
I LOVE creating a happy and comfortable environment, making people smile, learning, teaching, meeting people, having passion, laughter, inventing, finding that “special something” I know someone wants and then creating it and making them feel such joy to enjoy every day.
I have an intense interest in inventing new ways to express myself with brushes and paint, with papers and foils, and with micas and resins to mention a few.
When I start to create exciting something happens, it’s like a magical glittering wave coming from me, without barriers or limits or constrictions.
This feeling happens often to most creators, we communicate in all sorts of ways and avoid being repetitive. Each piece is a new moment in time for me to capture the emotion.
I am passionate about texture and one-sided about color combinations. I am definite about what I love. I know about war, famine, poverty, suffering, and failure in people’s lives. We see it all the time, so why put it in my art? I know that the lives of people are sometimes complex, yet I also know that life is in fact so simple!
I create from my heart in an effort to bring comfort to you and the World. Let's splurge.
