Each time we walk to the lake, we look for the kingfishers. Watching the resident kingfishers on our lake is always entertaining, especially when they plunge into the water head first, hunting for small fish. When we canoe on the lake, the kingfishers call and chatter as if scolding us for intruding on their space. This female was fun to paint with her large, crested head and beautiful colors.
