As an artist, I am filled with wonder and awe of nature's ever-changing
beauty. This painting was inspired by an opportunity to observe Alaska's famous herring run.

The curves of the whale's tail as it breaks the surface of the water accented by
the morning sunlight highlighting the scene along with the soft hues of blue and magenta in the
morning sky all came together to create a truly breathtaking scene.
