The site of vibrant goldfinches always brightens my day! Coneflowers are a special treat for these golden beauties. We enjoy watching the birds pluck ripe seeds from the centers of the coneflowers. Imagine being small enough to perch on a flower!

Large groups of goldfinches are frequent and welcome visitors to the open spaces between our home and the lake. We enjoy watching them harvest seeds from a variety of wildflowers and plants.

I always enjoy the chance to work with the most vibrant pigments and the challenge of painting colorful birds and vivid flowers. Carefully and thoughtfully applied layers of paint become rich colors as I seek to bring a sense of life and a moment in time to each painting.
