One of the most thrilling and dangerous African animals to observe and paint, the cape buffalo possess a fearless and arrogant  attitude,  demanding respect.  When I watched the soft light of sunrise illuminating the dusty haze surrounding the large bull, I knew the scene would be a compelling painting.
