Welcome to The Art of Old Signs solo exhibit featuring local artist Austin Baskett on display at Children’s Hospital Colorado’s Hamilton Fine Art Gallery from August – November 2024. Old neon signs have always intrigued Austin. They are the storytellers of a bygone era. All but a few of the signs exhibited in this show are from Colorado and despite the constant threat of development, many are still in existence. Over the past 10 years, the artist has traveled the state drawing these iconic relics to help preserve their beauty, and to share their stories with others.

El arte de los viejos carteles
Los viejos carteles de neón siempre me han intrigado. Son los narradores de historias de una era pasada. La mayoría de los carteles exhibidos en esta muestra son de Colorado y, a pesar de la amenaza constante de desarrollo urbano, muchos de ellos aún existen. Durante los últimos 10 años, he viajado por el estado dibujando estas reliquias icónicas para ayudar a preservar su belleza y compartir sus historias con otros. ¡Que lo disfruten!
