This artwork exemplifies the art and science of anesthesiology. We definitely use the evidence of science but when applying that to our multitudes of patients, who are very different from each other, the art takes place when the anesthesiologist would have to modify the science and make it patient-centered and patient-safe. The inspiration from starry night was just a dream-like state symbolizing anesthesia.
