Children's Scavenger Hunt
Go outside to find Harlequin! You cannot miss it!

Here are some questions for you to answer:

What do you see in the shapes of this sculpture? Do the colors remind you of anything?

What would you name the sculpture?

Does the sculpture look different when you lay in the grass next to it? What about across the lawn, does it look like something else?

David Hayes (1931 – 2013)

Over his lifetime David Hayes has been part of 400 exhibitions, more than 100 institutional collections, including that of the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum in New York and Notre Dame University feature his work. The name of this sculpture was inspired by the jovial character who entertained nobility, like kings and queens, during the Renaissance (1400 AD). Harlequins were also known for their flamboyant and colorful costumes featuring diamond shapes and a theatrical hat.

¡Sal a buscar a Harlequin!
