'Embrace the Beauty in the Scars' is a group art piece created by the 2024 CORAL Visual Art Cohort. By each contributing an element to sculpture, we share our experience of being a group of individuals who together became so much more. The sculpture represents a candle, with the elements symbolizing our most difficult moments in our CORAL experience resting at the bottom. As we moved through our group process, we found that we could lean on one another, and build resiliency, which is represented by the visual elements placed closer to the candle’s flame. By confronting the difficult emotions, treasuring our vulnerability, and trusting one another, we found a way to fight burnout, and we hope our art will light the way for others in the healthcare field.
