This piece is constructed from natural, unglazed clay, slab-built and hand carved, then fired to 2200°F, allowing the material’s raw texture, process, and weight to remain visible. Inspired by modernist and Brutalist architecture, my work balances geometric rigor with hand-shaped irregularities, evoking a contemplative presence. The work feels embodied, with structure, proportion, and surface communicating meaning without ornament. The sculpture functions as an intimate architectural presence—both strong and fragile, restrained, and quietly expressive.
