For this painting of Bottom Bay, a location often depicted with numerous palm trees to enhance its picturesque appeal, I intentionally chose a different focus. Instead of emphasizing a postcard-perfect scene, I aimed to capture the raw and dramatic beauty of the coastline. You’ll notice the absence of a dense palm grove; instead, my brush focused on the textured grandeur of the cliffs meeting the vibrant turquoise of the Atlantic. The energy of the waves crashing on the store rendered with thick impasto, and the rugged details of the rock formations are what drew my eye. This is my personal interpretation of Bottom Bay, appreciating its natural power and less commonly seen facets.
