Orange and Navy Crackle Bowl by Candice Treat Murphy

Discovery

Layers of 3 colors of blue glass powder are dusted onto a dampened circle of kiln fiber. After some drying, the fiber is scrunched to cause cracks in the blue caked powder. Next a clear glass circle is fused on top. After a full fuse, the blue crackled circle is fused to an opaque orange circle. The last step is slumping into a bowl mold. When lighted from behind, the effect is stunning.
