La Fortuna

This painting comes from a trip I took to Costa Rica. My friend and I stayed in this cabin in the La Fortuna area in the north, just beneath Arenal Volcano. The volcano was obscured by cloud cover the day I took the photo on which this piece is based, but you can see it rising up in the middle-right under the tree limbs hanging over. I loved the combination of bright yellow flowers and moody gray-purple sky.
