- Scrub Oak Cairn, 2021
- 3D Printed Scrub Oak elements, painted steel, cast aluminum, glow in the dark paint
"This artwork focused on the moth—offering a faint
blue glow from within at night. Moths are drawn to
blue and ultraviolet light, and this muted element
will draw curious visitors both moth and human. The
inspiration for this work is based on one of my favorite
trails, where these trees completely cover what's underfoot
from the eye. I always peer around and under these
miniature trees in hopes to glimpse at worlds
underneath—much like one will approach this work—as
slits in the leaf surface will give way to safe nesting for
moths. They will emerge in a new life cycle and pollinate
the nearby meadows." - Andrew Woodard
